WHO WE ARE

Since 1976, we have been a home for storytellers, dreamers and passionate theatre-makers.

The Essendon Theatre Company (ETC) is a local community-based theatre in the inner-city Melbourne suburb of Essendon (hence the name).  Operating out of Bradshaw Street Community Hall in Essendon, we have produced over 150 productions over the last 50 years.

We have a proud history of producing quality community theatre.  Producing four productions per year, from dramas to comedies and the odd pantomime, we have something for every audience!

Our shows are presented in dinner theatre style, which means you can bring your own snacks!

ETC is a proud member of The Victorian Drama League (VDL) submitting one production annually as part of the VDL Awards. We have even been honoured with a couple of nominations and awards over the years

We are powered by a dedicated team of volunteers, actors, creatives and behind-the-scenes superstars who share a deep love for live and local theatre.

ETC is run on the love and commitment of passionate theatre lovers and volunteers dedicated to amateur theatre.

Come for the drama- stay for the community!

OUR COMMITTEE

Our Committee members are dedicated to providing genuine opportunities for all members of the community to come together and participate in the magic of theatre.  Our guiding principles of people, inclusivity, and innovation drive everything we do, ensuring that our productions truly reflect the richness and diversity of our community.

Committee members are selected at the beginning of each year at the Annual General Meeting, and meet monthly to help guide the direction of ETC and support all productions.
